The Collatz Conjecture is a currently unsolved problem in math that was proposed by Lothar Collatz in 1937. It is an extremely simple math problem; if the number is even, divide by 2, and if the number is odd, multiply by 3 and add 1. The question is if every number will eventually get to one. Mathematicians have tested numbers up to 268, but there has been no proof so far. Paul Erdős famously said, "Mathematics may not be ready for such problems"(Guy, 2004, p. 330). Use this tool to explore all the numbers you want.
